Hedge-U-cation provides educational and therapeutic activities, with the aim of developing resilience, encouraging independence and improving social, emotional, mental and physical well-being. We promote outdoor learning, traditional rural skills and environmental awareness.
Welcome to Hedge-U-cation!
Hedge-U-cation facilitates land-based educational and therapeutic activities for children, young people and adults. We hold Forest School outdoor learning sessions including bushcraft, wild food foraging and environmental education. We run workshops sharing traditional arts, crafts and skills such as woodworking, blacksmithing, coppicing and basket-making. We also offer group sessions where we prepare meals, combining edibles collected on foraging walks, food from our gardens and allotments and locally-sourced produce.
We believe that learning new skills together outdoors promotes resilience, improves social, emotional and physical well-being and strengthens community cohesion.
