What to expect

Hedge-u-cation is a Community Interest Company. We operate as a not-for-profit organisation, and we wouldn’t be able to create this without our volunteers, or without you!

Our aim is to keep the tickets affordable for all, to ensure everyone can access the camp.

Camp facilities are basic but provide everything you need for off grid living for a week.

When you arrive, give your ticket or workshop details to the crew at the information tent, then set up camp.

The best thing to do is to wander around the camp after you have settled in.

Hedge-u-cation is all about building community, and moving away from the feeling of consumer expectation that can be so overwhelming in the rest of our lives.

We have a wide range of workshops to take part in. Read the updated list of workshops here.

Certain workshops are limited to small numbers for each session due to the tools available being limited. Based on feedback, we have introduced morning bookings for workshops by the information tent, so that each day you will be able to put your name down for the workshops you want to take part in.

Workshop details are put up on a board at the information tent (along with where to find them) as workshop facilitators arrive.

Horse Area

Meet the horses and come and take part in equine activities, games and education. Read about our horse area and activities here.

Kids’ Area

We have lots of activities and events in the Kid’s Area and around the camp, for children of all ages. Read about our Kid’s Area and activities here.

Youth Area

The Youth Area/Teen Space is an area where teenagers can be themselves and relax away from their younger siblings! The Teen Space will become the Dance Tent over the weekend, where young people will have a chance to perform alongside our DJs and showcase their talents.

Knees Up – The weekend end of camp celebration

At the end of the week we have an end of camp celebration (our Hedge-u-cation “Knees Up”). Workshops continue to run but please be aware that at the same time a lot more people arrive and so if you don’t want to miss out on workshops it is best to come along during the week! The main stage will feature some great bands and the Teen Tent will become the dance tent, hosting the Hedge-u-cation DJs, and offering a showcase for younger performers to take the stage.

A licensed bar (The Stagger Inn) opens at 6pm on the Friday evening.  There’ll be a Fire Ceremony, a Friday Night cabaret including a talent show, and  entertainment from bands and DJs until 2am. On the Saturday afternoon we have more performances that have been developed at workshops during the week, and on Saturday evening the bar will open again, with more bands and DJs to finish off the week.

There will be a site café running throughout the week. We’re also not far away from local shops, so it will be easy enough to stock up on provisions.
