COMING SOON:
Horticulture is widely recognised as a therapeutic activity. Hedge-U-cation offers social and therapeutic horticulture sessions for young people and adults in the South West.
Gardening activities, from cultivating herbs and flowers to growing vegetables and tending shrubs, are adapted to suit people of all ages and abilities.
Social and therapeutic horticulture has a wide range of benefits. In addition to the physical advantages to be gained from taking part in gardening activities, we believe that attending regular therapeutic horticulture group sessions can help to reduce social anxiety in people, improving confidencing, self-esteem and overall sense of well-being.
Our sessions are open to everybody, and are particularly structured to be inclusive and accessible for people living with mental and physical health complications, those affected by social isolation and the long-term unemployed. We support families and individuals with diverse and complex needs.
We are currently seeking to create a permanent horticultural garden, where we can hold regular sessions.
