We believe that learning new skills together in the outdoor environment promotes resilience, helps to improve social, emotional, mental and physical well-being, and strengthens communities.
Hedge-U-cation
Hedge-U-cation provides land, art and craft-based educational and therapeutic activities for children, young people and adults. We hold Forest School outdoor learning sessions, including bushcraft, wild food foraging and environmental education. We run a range of workshops, sharing traditional crafts and skills such as woodworking, blacksmithing, coppicing and basket-making. We also offer group sessions where we prepare meals together, combining edibles collected on our wild foraging walks, food grown in our gardens and allotments, and locally sourced produce.

Crowdfunder appeal
Rekindling Roots in partnership with Hedge-U-cation C.I.C. are raising funds to enable asylum seeking families and individuals to attend the Hedge-U-cation Family Camp. These will include some of the unaccompanied children brought to the UK under the Dubs Amendment, and their key workers. The community spirit at the heart of Hedge-U-cation is fundamental to everything we do. We know that children and families seeking asylum in the UK have left homes, family members and connections behind - we'd like to extend the warmest of welcomes and invite some of them to join the Hedge-U-cation family.Read more
